Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Dreamville Records released her debut EP titled Pho in October 2016 where she started to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued posting her songs online, including her independent single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her perform on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. The 8th of December was the day she announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016, her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing in the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening act. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks with EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. On the 9th of November the singer released two new singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles, titled No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on November 16. It was released with the music video which debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
