Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. She has also starred in shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was born the only girl of her mother who was a homemaker and senior executive from her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life in the company of four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized about becoming an official reporter for the court. She began modelling in highschool and eventually gained commercials when she moved into New York. Her first acting job was as a teen innocent on All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. The career of Delaney has been filled with a variety of television shows and dramas. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional one has nt been successful and happy. The skilled actor had to battle alcoholism, and she has experienced two divorces. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of her only child that she had.
